Quoc Viet. Visit the specialty pineapple garden of Tac Cau and the Cai Lon – Cai Be sluices to gain a panoramic view of the nature and people of the Southwest region. Learn about the life and heroic achievements of the national hero Nguyen Trung Truc.
EXCLUSIVE TOUR
This is an exclusive program developed by HaiAu Educursions in collaboration with Tu Viet Rice Harvest Farm. It aims to revive the unique characteristics of the traditional six-month wet rice cultivation practices, as well as to bring to life the fascinating stories of the rice grain’s journey—from the earliest southern settlers to the present day.
The experiential activities in the program vary by season throughout the year.
From April to May, the focus is on dry-season activities such as: threshing rice, pounding rice by hand, catching fish in drained ditches, and grilling fish in the middle of the field.
In addition to hands-on experiences at the rice harvest farm, the program also includes visits to pineapple, areca, and coconut gardens—local specialties of the Tac Cau islet area—and to one of Vietnam’s largest irrigation projects: the Cai Lon – Cai Be sluice and bridge system. These visits offer travelers a comprehensive perspective on how the people of the Ca Mau Peninsula adapt to climate change in both agricultural practices and daily life.
SCHEDULE
MORNING:
- The vehicle and tour guide pick up the group at the meeting point and depart for Kiên Giang.
- Arrive at Tư Việt Seasonal Rice Farm and enjoy a special welcome drink made from Tắc Cậu pineapple.
- Discover the story of the rice grain through a talk by engineer Lê Quốc Việt.
- Change clothes and join in a series of dry-season activities, including grilling fish in the field.
LUNCH:
- Have lunch.
- Depart to visit a local pineapple garden.
- Visit the Cái Lớn – Cái Bé sluice gate system.
- Depart for Rạch Giá. Check in at the hotel and rest.
AFTERNOON:
- Enjoy free time to explore the cuisine of the coastal city of Rạch Giá.
- Overnight stay in Rạch Giá.
MORNING:
- Have breakfast.
- Sightseeing Nguyen Dinh Chieu Temple.
- Departure to Ho Chi Minh City.
AFTERNOON:
Upon arrival in Ho Chi Minh City, the HaiAu Educursions tour guide bids farewell to the group and looks forward to seeing you again in upcoming programs.
