SON ISLET PROJECT
Son Islet is a small islet on a branch of the Hau River with a total area of 218 hectares (with more than 70 hectares of exposed land) located in Area 1, Bui Huu Nghia Ward, Bình Thủy District, Cần Thơ City. What makes Community Tourism at Son Islet attractive is its rustic charm that embodies the cultural essence and rural civilization of the riverine countryside.
The residents of Son Islet engage in tourism with a spirit of neighborly love, working together to preserve traditional lifestyles, support each other in improving the economy, enrich their spiritual lives, and collaborate to create diverse experiential journeys.
In 2016, HAEC had the opportunity to accompany Cồn Sơn in developing the community tourism project and tourism products for international visitors, being recognized as the pioneer in bringing international customers to Son Islet.
Since 2019, HAEC has incorporated Son Islet’s products into educational tourism programs, with some notable programs as follows:
- Organizing trips for VAS students to Son Islet through excursions for grades 6-7-8 with green living activities. In return, the households at Son Islet teach the students traditional folk knowledge.
- Exploring themes such as the impact of climate change on people’s lives, observing these effects in individual households, and discussing current issues at Son Islet through excursions for VAS students in grades 10-12.
- Successfully organizing activities for schools like Singapore International School, FPT,…
- Developing Cồn Sơn tourism products for inbound and domestic tours,…
To HAEC, Son Islet has always been familiar with the continuous journey of collaboration from the early days until now. We hope that HAEC and Son Islet will continue to have many opportunities to accompany each other on the path of bringing the Southern heritage to more people.
Tam Thanh Mural Village
- Tam Thanh has long been known as a poetic land with the sea in front and the river behind; it is a commune in Tam Kỳ City, Quảng Nam Province. Tam Thanh gained more attention when this fishing village was adorned with colorful murals, and vibrant wall paintings created by the talented hands of Vietnamese and Korean artists. Each painting contains its own story, contributing to an artistic space with a unique, creative, and dynamic appearance while still preserving traditional beauty.
- In 2017, recognizing the potential value of Tam Thanh Mural Village and stemming from a desire to spread local culture, HAEC quickly introduced the community tourism model here. HAEC has accompanied and advised on developing tourism products for Tam Thanh Commune to improve the living environment and create livelihoods for the community through tourism activities.
HAEC hopes that this model will continue to be expanded and developed more actively.

"HOA NƠI ĐẠI NGÀN" - ĐÀ LẠT
- The Project Based Learning model has been officially integrated into HaiAu Educursions’ educational tourism framework since 2018. HAEC has collaborated with schools and students to develop community projects based on the practical needs of each locality, especially in promoting education for children in highland areas with the motto “education for education’s sake, education for human life”.
- In the highlands of Lam Vien, HaiAu Educursions has partnered with students from the Vietnamese Australian International School to implement a community project series called “Hoa Nơi Đại Ngàn”. The aim is to hold hands and realize dreams, bringing a fresh breeze to the learning environment of children at Đưng K’Nớ Primary School.
- Within this community project, the group has carried out activities such as “bringing electricity and clean water back to the village”, contributing to improving the lives of the K’Ho people in K’Tong village, Đưng K’Nớ commune, Lac Duong district, Lam Dong province.
